THE ARTIST'S EYE
"In my abstract architectural efforts, I try to project simplicity in line and form of three-dimensional objects. The most fundamental straight line shape is a four sided three dimensional triangle, called a tetrahedron. I employ other combinations of cubes, parallelograms; all three-dimensional forms, sometimes in striking colors. These forms please the eye in their simplicity and balance. No bells. No whistles. No fancy chasing treatment of the metal. Just the combination of simple forms."

Stuart Hollander (1929-2013)

Following a five-year battle with cancer, fought bravely with his customary grace and good humor, Stuart Hollander passed away at home on November 11, 2013 with his wife of 46 years, Sharon Hollander and their two sons, Stuart S Hollander and Jason Hollander at his bedside.

He was born in St. Louis, MO, on May 26, 1929. The son of Herman S. and Bertha R. Hollander, Stuart is survived by his brothers, Stanley N. Hollander (Joan) and Barry M. Hollander, his aunt Hilda Shulkin, his niece, nephews, cousins, in-laws and his many friends.

As well as being a loving husband and father, he was a man of many accomplishments.

Stuart was a graduate of Washington University Olin Business School, an U.S. Air Force pilot during the Korean War, a business leader and entrepreneur, a pioneer of incentive travel, an artist in welded steel sculpture, an accomplished skier, tennis player, sailor, race car driver, world traveler, and dark chocolate sommelier.

He will be greatly missed by all. His wish was that his life be celebrated by his treasured family and friends.
